Fear is an incredible motivator. It can also keep us from experiencing the fullness of life and following Jesus. This section of the Mission : Rescue series focuses on our response to the difficulties that come with life. Because how we respond will ultimately determine how we live our lives and the level of impact we have on the world around us. Will we respond with fear or will we respond with faith?
May 19 - To the Storms (Mark 4:35-41)
The storms of life will hit. There is no question. But, when they do, what will be our response? Will we cower in fear or will we stand firm in our faith?
May 26 - To the Fight (Mark 5:1-20)
We are in the fight of our lives. Whether we recognize it or not, every day we wake up, we step onto a battle field. As we head into our daily routines we do so under intense enemy fire. Will we retreat in fear or fight with faith? Will we become another casualty or live victoriously?
June 2 - To His Power (Mark 5:21-43)
The universe was created through Jesus. In Him is an unmatchable power. Many were afraid of the power Jesus displayed. Others, faithfully accessed it. How do we, too, access that kind of power to overcome the things that hold us back or push back the injustices and darkness in the world?
June 9 - To Opposition (Mark 6:1-6)
Following Jesus welcomes opposition of one kind or another. Will we respond with fear of what others may think or do? Or will we respond with faith? How do we respond with faith in the face of opposition?
June 16 - To the Call (Mark 6:6-13)
The call of Jesus can be intimidating, even frightening. What He may ask us to do or where He may ask us to go can cause us to respond in one of two ways: fear or faith. How can we faithfully live out the call on our lives?
June 23 - To the Controversy (Mark 6:14-29)
The message of Jesus is controversial. Few like being told they have sinned and need forgiveness. Few are ok with giving up their selfishness to live for God. How do we respond when controversy arises? What do we do when our faith is threatened and our reputation (or even lives) are on the line?
